Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Interior issued guidelines to control mobility during 08 to 16 May, 2021 and on forthcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
Due to the current spike of Covid-19 in the country, following guidelines issued with slogan "Stay Home - Stay Safe":-
a. Issuance of SOPs Guidelines:- Issuance of comprehensive SOPs / guidelines for Yom.e-Ali, Itekar, Shab-e-Qadar, Jummah-tul-Wida and Namaz-e-Eid by 1st May, 2021.
b. General NPIs:- All markets, businesses and shops will remain closed except essential services including following:- Grocery Stores - Pharmacies / Medical Stores - Medical Facilities and Vaccination Centres - Vegetable, Fruit, Chicken & Meat Shops - Bakeries - Petrol Pumps - Food Takeaways and E-Commerce (Home Delivery) - Utility Services (Electricity Natural Gas, Internet, Cellular Networks / Telecom, Call Centres) and Media
c. Tourism:- Complete ban on tourism for both locals & outsiders. All tourist resorts, formal and informal picnic spots, public parks, shopping malls, all hotels and restaurants in / around tourist/picnic spots to remain closed. Travel modes leading to tourist picnic spots closed, focus on Murree, Galiyat, Swat. Kalam, Sea View / Beaches and Northern Areas and other tourist destinations. Locals especially people of GB & AJK be allowed to travel back home.
d. Transport:- Ban on inter provincial, inter-city and intra-city public transport except private vehicles, taxis/cabs, rikshaws with 50% occupancy. Additional trains to manage extra passenger load till 7 May, thereafter normal train operation be resumed. 70% occupancy along with stringent COVID SOPs be ensured.
e. Media:- Continuous messaging through print, electronic and social media on the theme "Stay Home - Stay Safe for Eid-ul-Fitr 2021'. Media channels to air Special Eid Holiday Packages (Movies, dramas and entertainment shows etc.) to keep public at home - uninterrupted electricity supply be ensured during Eid Holidays.
