NOTIFICATION REGARDING RECITATION OF SURAHS INSTEAD OF OBSERVANCE OF ONE MINUTE SILENCE TO TRIBUTE A DECEASED MUSLIM PERSON

 Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony issued a notification regarding recitation of Surahs instead of one minute of silence to tribute deceased Muslim person.

It is notified for information of general public that in order to tribute a deceased Muslim person or to hold a day of his remembrance the following practice which is in accordance with the injunctions of Islam may be observed instead of observing one minute of silence:

• Surah Al Fatiha
• Surah Al Ikhlaas 
• Darood Shareef 
• Duaa-e-Maghfirat 

However, non Muslims living in the country may observe such events as per their own practice and religious beliefs.
