Government of the Punjab, Services & General Administration Department (Regulation Wing) issued Notification vide No.SOR-lll(S&GAD)2-02/2012 dated 24-09-2017 regarding Amendment in the Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment
and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1974, in rule 17-A. The detail of the same is as under:
ln exercise of the powers conferred under section 23 of the Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974 (Vlll of
1974), Governor of the Punjab is pleased to direct that:- the Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment and
Conditions of Service) Rules, 1974 the following further amendments shall be made:
AMENDMENT
In the Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1974, in rule 17-A, for the Secord proviso,
the following shall be substituted:
“Provided further that only one child or widow or wife of an employee who dies during service or is declared invalidated or incapacitated for further service, if otherwise eligible for the post, shall
be appointed to a post in BS-1 to BS-11 in the department where the
Government servant was serving at the time of the death or the declaration, without observance of the procedural requirements prescribed for such appointment.”
